What GSM fleece do you use for sweatpants and joggers?

Fleece weight for sweatpants and joggers

Sweatpants and joggers are usually produced in a fleece weight in the region of roughly 280 to 400 gsm, with the heavier end giving more structure and warmth and the lighter end giving a softer, more casual drape.

The right weight depends on the season and on how the piece is styled: a heavier jogger holds its shape and suits a cooler climate, while a lighter fleece feels less bulky and works as a lighter layer.

Two fleece fabrics at the same weight can feel quite different depending on the yarn, the knit and the finishing, so a swatch in the hand is more useful than a number on a sheet.

Because the waistband, cuffs and drawcord are part of the construction, the fabric and trims are considered together when the sample is developed.

Tell us the feel and the season you are targeting and we will confirm the fabric options for your order.
