How do I start a custom streetwear manufacturing project from scratch?

Update Time:2026/10/13

Starting from scratch, step by step

Start with a reference rather than a finished design file. A photograph, a competitor piece you own, or a rough sketch plus the fabric and fit you have in mind is enough for a first conversation, because the specification is developed with the factory rather than handed over complete.

The second step is the specification meeting: fabric weight, trims, measurements, decoration placement and the size set. Nothing should be cut before this is written down, because every later stage inherits the uncertainty if it is left open.

Then sample. Sampling typically takes around two weeks and is charged separately, quoted upfront. Approve the sample in writing, because that approved piece becomes the reference for the whole run rather than a general impression of the style.

Bulk production typically takes three to four weeks after approval. Our standard minimum is 100 pieces per style, per color, with sizes mixable inside one colourway, and shipping by sea, air or land is quoted as its own line. Tell us your quantity per colour and target date and we will reply within one working day.
